In 2006, London's electronic rock n roll noise
niks Infadels, broke legs, ankles and teeth
in support of their critically lauded "We Are
Not The Infadels" LP.
From Bristol to Brisbane to California to
Clapham, Bnann, Matt, Wag, Richie and Alex
soldiered forth playing hundreds of shows
sharing stages with Hard-Fi, the Prodigy,
Faithless and the Scissor Sisters. It didn't
take very long for their reputation as the
most thundering, high energy rock n roll
show on the block became undeniable.
The only time they were stopped in their
tracks occurred when the Moscow police
couldn't guarantee they "wouldn't get shot"
if they were to go ahead with a warehouse
party in the Russian capital.
Broke, but not broken, the boys returned
home and set to work building a new studio
so that maybe they could produce a new
album and still have some money left to
buy Christmas presents come the years end.
It was with some luck that former Infadels
producer Jagz Kooner had left most of his
personal belongings in their old room
including vintage keyboards, some bizarre
wind instruments and one camo jacket with
approximatly £19.26 worth of change in the
left hand pocket. Five free breakfasts later
new songs began to take shape. And this
leads us up til now.
So, just what are they building in there?
Fears of a band "going soft" or suffering
"difficult second album" syndrome can be
quelled with rumblings from within the camp.
There is talk of a "rusty graveyard funk"
direction, and according to Wag, "cataclysmic
orgasm of re-birth".
Seems it's business as usual on Planet
Infadel.
We'll leave you with this. When we sent a
text to Bnann asking for three words that
would hint at what we could come to expect
from this new long player, he replied "we
aint afraid of no one. songswith the charm
of mad men chantin something infectious
that makes you want to join the circus of the
mad."

Look busy...The Infadels are coming back.
